What is RootWise?
RootWise is a parenting coach in your pocket for children aged 0-10. It gives you word-for-word scripts for 36 hard moments like tantrums, bedtime, or hitting, 150 short articles that explain what is going on with your child, a chat that answers your own questions, and a small space for you with meditations, daily affirmations, and a journal.
How does the chat work?
You describe your situation and get an answer for your child's age, based on RootWise's own scripts and articles. Answers are generated by AI, so read them as a well-informed friend's suggestion, not as medical, psychological, or legal advice. If you are worried about your child's health or safety, talk to your pediatrician or a local emergency service.
What is free and what is premium?
Free: all 36 scripts, daily affirmations, basic meditations, the journal, and one chat question per day. Premium adds unlimited chat, the full article library, advanced meditations, and journal export. Premium starts with a 7-day free trial; you can cancel anytime during the trial without being charged.
What age range does RootWise cover?
RootWise is built for parents of children from birth to age 10. Scripts are filtered by your child's age, and many of the strategies work for older children too.
Is RootWise available in my language?
RootWise is available in English, German, and Spanish. Scripts, articles, and chat answers are written for each language, not translated word for word. You can switch the language in Settings.
Is my data safe?
Your chat history and journal entries are stored only on your phone, encrypted, and are not uploaded anywhere. Your account and your children's names and ages are stored in the cloud so you can sign in on a new phone. We do not sell your data, and usage analytics are off unless you switch them on. Details are in our privacy policy.
Does RootWise work offline?
Scripts, articles, affirmations, and the journal work offline once the content has loaded. The chat and audio playback need an internet connection.
How do I get started?
Download the app, answer a two-minute quiz about your child, and you get a first plan: three scripts and two topics matched to your child. You create your account at the end of the quiz, with email, Google, or Apple.
Can both parents use RootWise?
Yes, and each parent needs their own account and subscription today. Since chats and the journal stay on the phone, they are personal to each parent. Shared family accounts are on our list but not available yet.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Through your app store, not in the app: on iPhone under Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. You keep premium access until the end of the period you paid for.
